First things first
This is not another contract vote
Our ratification vote and the upcoming Local election are two separate things. Here is the difference, side by side.
The contract vote
Approving the collective bargaining agreement negotiated between Corewell Health East nurses and the employer.
- The question it answers
- Do we accept this contract?
- What it settles
- It established the agreement that governs our workplace.
The Teamsters Local 2024 election
Choosing the members who will serve as the elected leadership of Teamsters Local 2024.
- The question it answers
- Who leads our union?
- What it settles
- It determines who serves in the elected leadership positions going forward.
Two different votes. The contract set the terms of our workplace. The election decides who leads our union.
Executive Board · E-Board
What is an Executive Board?
You’ll hear Executive Board and E-Board used interchangeably — they mean the same thing. It is the elected leadership team of the Local. Members elect nurses into seven officer positions, and together those seven make up the Executive Board.

Slate
What is a slate?
A slate is simply a group of candidates who have chosen to run together for different elected positions, usually because they share similar goals for how the Local should operate. There may be more than one slate in an election, and candidates may also run individually depending on the applicable election rules.

Candidates who share similar goals for how the Local should operate can choose to run together. That group is called a slate — and this one is ours.
At its simplest
Members are choosing the nurses who will lead our Local.
Those seven officers make up the Local’s Executive Board. This is an election for the leadership of our union — not another vote on our collective bargaining agreement.
